Notably, the VCDX expert-level certification was officially retired at the end of 2024, with current emphasis placed on VCP and VCAP certifications to validate hands-on and design capabilities. The VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) certification has also introduced a new lifecycle policy, setting a 36-month validity period, with renewal required through exams to ensure skills remain up to date.
